A hearty CONGRATULATIONS and JOB WELL DONE to the Arkansas State Dental Association, Delta Dental of Arkansas, the dentists and dental teams, and the community volunteers in Little Rock for staging their first MOM project this last Friday and Saturday!!
They were able to serve 1542 patients and provide $629,000. in dental care. The Organizing Committee worked long and hard to make this happen. Organizers attended MOM’s in Virginia and Kansas to ‘learn the ropes’. Special commitments were made by ASDA Executive Director Edie Mauldin , Dr. Miranda Smith, and Dr. Herman Hurd (Delta Dental).
Equipment was provided by Nebraska and Kansas as well as some extremely devoted MOM ‘veterans’ from both states (Do-it all Drs. Steve Anderson and Max McReynolds , Sterilization Queens Kim Coad and Tracy Conners , Stat Guru Jerri Jones , Facilitator extraordinaire Greg Hill , Iron Man Mike Alexander, Equipment magician Reggie (Yul) Monson, Semi packer & Poet Laureate Bruce Bergstrom, and Kim’s most amazing husband David).
Tennessee has expressed an interest to Arkansas to help them with their first MOM (next year). With Colorado and Connecticut already scheduled for their first MOM’s—the good news just keeps getting better.
Our Kansas volunteers did us proud and we owe them a big thank you! No state has more dedicated or passionate ‘MOM-er’s’ than little ‘ol Kansas .
Hugs,
Jon
Ps Here is what Jerri Jones had to say: “we had a great time and loved the ArMOM team. I know I can speak for the Kansas team when I say we will never forget this very moving Mission .”
