To provide dental care to underserved, the KMOM project will treat patients on a first come-first served basis and will treat approximately 2000 patients with value of more than $1 million. Patients will be given a medical screening and then triaged into either restorative (fillings), extractions, pediatric (children), oral surgery for major problems, or dental hygiene. Despite the recognition that all citizens need access to oral health care services, many still lack adequate, if any, access to such health services. KMOM has attempted to reach out to this high-risk, underserved populations to provide much-needed dental care with six projects held around the state of Kansas since 2003.
