The Kansas Dental Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce the date and location for the 2009 Kansas Mission of Mercy project.
The event, the eighth KMOM project, will take place in Manhattan on February 20-21 at the United States National Guard Armory, located just east of Manhattan on U.S. Highway 24.
Watch the Kansas Dental Charitable Foundation website (http://www.ksdentalfoundation.org/) website for more information, including hotel booking, registration and other KMOM related items.
“We look forward to working with the community of Manhattan over the next seven months to bring the 2009 KMOM event to the Riley County area,” said Greg Hill, Executive Director of the Kansas Dental Charitable Foundation, the organizing committee for the KMOM project. “We will be making contacts within the next few months as we look for community support both for volunteers, but for monetary and in-kind support to our efforts.”
The Kansas Mission of Mercy project has treated 15,000 patients since its inception in 2003, and treats approximately 2000 patients and $1 million in free dental care at each KMOM project.

Hi my boyfriend is 25 and he really needs his wisdom teeth extracted. The roots are growing over the nerve and the top ones are VERY close to his sinuses. We found out that we no longer had medicaid insurance after the consultation with the oral surgeon, so now we have to pay 150 which I have no idea how that is going to happen. He just really needs this done FAST before something bad happens. If anyone can give me any advice or point me in the right direction to get help it would be greatly appreciated. Please email me at jwesley@emporia.edu
Thank you!
Hi I am 44 year old single parent of 2. For years now I have been loosing my teeth. About 6 years I was able to get help to get a partial on the bottom, but am not able to wear it cause of being allergic to the liner. Anyways, at this time I have about 6 teeth left on the top (but 2 are severly chipped) and on the bottom I have about 4 teeth left. Otherwards, I have 2 front bottom teeth missing and one front top tooth missing plus many others. I desperately need help on getting something done. I feel my bad teeth is what keeps me from getting the job I really want (in an office). I get all kinds of stares from adults and kids, due to the condition of my teeth. I had a child come thru my line at one place I worked and she asked her mom why my teeth were so bad and the mother said, well hun you are a good child therefore your teeth are in good shape. That made me cry. I am severly depressed and occasionally in pain. I have no insurance and am currently unemployed. Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! lovingmom1126@yahoo.com
I know a young lady that is 24 years of age and mother of 3. She has several issues with her dental status, she is unable to sleep at times due to the extreme pain caused by her wisdom teeth but can do nothing about it because she doesnt have any insurance and simply cannot afford to pay for the services so she suffers through it all. some nights she cannot sleep at all and i wish that there is some way i could help her but i simply have no way to help pay for it, not even maxing out my credit. Please advise what i can do or tell her so she may get some relief.
