FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Topeka, KS: The Kansas Dental Charitable Foundation has announced that the Kansas Mission of Mercy (KMOM) will return to Garden City, KS, in April to provide free dental care to those in need in the community.
“Our first project was held in Garden City back in 2003,” said Greg Hill, Executive Director of the Kansas Dental Charitable Organization which hosts the annual event in communities across Kansas. “Beginning with that first project, our volunteer dentists and hygienists have provided dental care to more than 10,000 patients who otherwise might still be in severe dental pain.”
KMOM will be held April 18-19th in the 3I Building at the Finney County Fairgrounds in Garden City. Patients should arrive for care in the morning and they will be treated in the order they arrived.
“Our primary services are cleanings, fillings and extractions,” Hill said. “There are no age or income limitations. Patients are treated on a first come, first served basis for their most immediate dental needs.”
Hundreds of volunteers are expected to help provide that care, including many volunteers from the Garden City area who will be helping escort patients, providing food for patients and volunteers and providing support services for the clinic.
“Obviously, the support of the KMOM volunteers is critical for a program that will serve nearly 2000 patients in two days,” Hill said.
