Dear Manhattan KMOM Volunteer:
It is truly remarkable to see the response to the call for volunteers for the upcoming Kansas Mission of Mercy (KMOM) project. To date, the Kansas Mission of Mercy has brought together over 4,000 volunteers committed to the projects.
The clinic in the National Guard Armory (721 Levee Dr) will house 72 operatories where approximately 2,000 patients will receive nearly $1,000,000 in free dental care – what an opportunity to make a difference. We want to thank you for making the commitment to this most worthy outreach program. We believe this endeavor will be an enriching experience to all involved – volunteers, sponsors and, of course, the many less fortunate that we each have chosen to serve. The gift is truly in giving.
We have put together as much information as we have available to help you prepare for the weekend. We recognize that each of your expectations and needs for pre-event planning may be different. We ask for your consideration and understanding in the fact that a certain amount of unpredictability is inevitable and would ask you to be as flexible as possible.
Many hard working people and organizations have made KMOM possible which will be recognized during the event. Thank you again, for giving your hands and your heart to this very special project; it is an experience you will never forget. We look forward to seeing you in Manhattan!
Very Sincerely,
Dr. Christopher Smith
Dr. Randy Davis

Okay so I got my info through my email. However, this is my first time with KMOM and I have a few more questions. I am volunteering as a dental assistant. Do I need to bring my own gloves, masks and hand sanitizer?
You don't need to bring anything. However, if there things you would like to bring that you would be more comfortable using, yoy are welcome to do so, just make sure they are adequately marked.
Our office is coming to work in the Pediatric KMOM section.. we would to know if stuffed animals have already been donated for the children we will be treating? (so we can hand them out after treatment, like past years) Thanks!
To my knowledge, stuffed animals have not been donated.
This is my first KMOM event and I'm volunteering as a nurse. What role will I be doing and do I need to bring anything with me?
You will not need to bring anything. If you are registered as a nurse, you will likely be in medical triage doing medical evaluations.
